Video Transcript:
Hi, I'm Michael Henley. I'm the CEO of Aotearoa New Zealand Fine Wine Estates. We had come across the idea of a large screen via the airport and we wanted to make this wine tasting into an experience, a sort of a theatre of wine.
And so we got in touch with Luma and said these are the guys who we should need to talk to. Well we've got I think 11.5m x 1.6m screen that is used as a bit of a
It's a window to our world really. This allows us to take people to see all our other properties and use it as a window. We were wanting to do something that was very, very different. And we believe that if you can tell stories around wine, rather than just what a wine tastes like, then people are going to be more engaged with you. And if they're more engaged with you, they'll remember your wines more.
and if they remember your wines more, they'll actually buy the wines when they go away from this place. You push play on the screen and all of a sudden this black room becomes lit up by this massive screen and the visual impact is quite considerable. We got some amazing service out of Luma. It wasn't an easy project to put in but it was really important to get it right because it's such an amazing product.
both the content on it and the actual screen that you didn't want people taking pot shots at it and saying, "Oh yeah, it's good, but did you see that mistake that was in there? Or did you see that flicker? Or did you see..." So I think that Luma was very particular as well, so were we, about making sure we got the product right. So it really just ironed out any kinks that we had.
And that was pretty important to us. So we think that Luma has gone past what they needed to do for us, which is great. I think you don't know what you don't know is my favourite saying at the moment because I really don't know. So one of the things I think that Luma gave us the confidence that they were experts in this field, that they knew what they were doing and that it was, you know, it's obviously a very technical field.
that is difficult to get right and it requires a lot of care and attention and the machinery obviously costs a lot of money so they were careful with that. So I would say that Luma
to me, seemed an extremely professional outfit who knew what they were doing and knew what we were trying to do, understood what we were trying to do and therefore were able to achieve that. I think that's what we've ended up with has exceeded our expectations of what we were going to do and Luma's been a big part of that.
